20 days for $20

So today is my first day to blog about the campaign deal with UFCU. I have been brain storming with UFCU last couple months with different social media marketing opportunities. They have presence in Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. We are looking to grow our presence as well as running a word of mouth campaign for brand awareness. Here is what I have proposed and I am in the middle of spending next 3 weeks campaign. I am becoming the campaign of myself.

What?

I have proposed to UFCU that I will go on a crazy diet to see if I can get word out there for their Video Contest.

Crazy Diet?

I am cutting down my next 2 weeks’ food budget to $20.09 starting next Monday.

$20.09?

They are running a $20.09 give away campaign to anyone who opens an account with them in the beginning of the school year. I think starting in couple weeks… I am just trying to prove the case that $20.09 is… big money. It can get you a lot of things, like… 2o days worth of groceries? I proposed UFCU that we should run a diet campaign that I can last 20 days with $20.09 food budget. Now… they have accepted the pitch and I have to make this happen.

MAN! WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO!?

Living on $1 a day in the US is basically impossible — the cost of getting enough protein to your mouth is more than that!

If you count eating at a friend’s hours, or a free hotel buffet as “zero” then sure, you can probably stretch the $20.09 to cover twenty days. Recall Rachel Ray’s shows where she tried living on $20 per DAY while travelling — and even she had to dip into free hotel happy hours to do it.

This is going to be fun to watch — looking forward to this. ;-))

I found this article you might be interested in: http://www.rasmussen.edu/dev/articles/ramen-noodle-recipes.asp.

It might help. One of my faves of ramen egg-drop soup, you get the carbs AND the protein to make you less hungry.

    David –
You are bringing a whole new twist to Morgan Spurlock craze of a few years ago. I love it. Where do I go to view the video contest?

btw, what is your game plan?
